Careers @ Artificer
Be a part of the the distributed and multidisciplinary workforce helping industries of the future tackle legal, compliance and technology implementation challenges across Australia.
Who we are
About our Company
We’re Artificer Legal Pty Limited ABN 83 678 885 179, a hybrid incorporated legal practice and technology consultancy servicing organisations in technology-driven future-looking industries like cyber security, software development, space, clean energy, future materials, the gig economy and more.
As a hybrid organisation combining two highly technical disciplines, we’re geared towards helping clients solve some of the most difficult challenges that arise when trying to achieve practical legal and regulatory compliance in the deployment of technological systems and processes.
Who we work with
We’re looking to work with individuals that have skills, experience and an excitement for how technology works for businesses of the future, and how it can be ethically and effectively deployed within the spirit and letter of the law.
Our clients expect us to have an edge over our competitors in the insights and choices we make to deploy technology, as well as for us to effectively utilise technology in our own practice areas. We’re also focused on being effective communicators, which means knowing your audience well and choosing language and mediums that help you to be understood, all while tackling the complexities at the intersection of technology and the law.
What work life is like
Artificer follows a distributed practising model where workers are encouraged to work flexibly in a way that maximises time efficiency and productivity. Remote working is the norm, on the basis that we find meeting clients where they are, rather than centralising our operations, is more important than having daily face-to-face time as a team.
We are very progressive in the adoption of new technologies to support our legal and technology practice groups. Practitioners are able to contribute to the evolution of our tech stack which we have curated and deployed in-house, supported by our technology implementation practice. If you have ever worked at a law practice or any other company where the technology seems to (1) slow practitioners down, and (2) never gets replaced – we’re the polar opposite. This is essential for our role as technology implementers and incidental to it, as the study of new tools and technologies informs our recommendations to clients about what works and what’s involved in technology deployment.
Who we hire
We hire Australian Legal Practitioners with multidisciplinary experience (Software Development, DevOps, Data Science experience all highly regarded) or with skills and experience working with technology-driven businesses or any of the aforementioned ‘Future Industries’, as needed.
We hire Technology Consultants, Product Owners/Managers, Software Architects, Senior Help-Desk Engineers, Incident Response Managers – basically any experienced IT professionals that can show an interest in implementation of regulatory compliance software.
We hire Software Developers who have an interest in legal and compliance technology and want a modern place to practise their craft. We are not exclusively interested in degree-qualified applicants. Individuals with experience using, deploying and critically analysing AI tools are highly regarded.
